Excerpt from Reports of the Decisions of the Appellate Courts of the State of Illinois, Vol. 14: Containing All the Remaining Opinions of the First District Up to and Including a Portion of Those Filed on the Twentieth Day of May, 1884, and All the Remaining Opinions of the Second and Third Districts Up to June 19, 1884 The Act creating the Appellate Court requires these courts to write Opinions only in cases where the judgments or decrees of the courts below are reversed and the causes remanded. This accounts for the Opinions in this volume being, with a few exceptions, in cases where the j udgmen ts below were reversed by the Appellate Courts. See Hurd's Revised Statutes, 1883, page 341.
