Description

Excerpt from Report of the Cochituate Water Board to the City Council of Boston, for the Year 1862 There are two short bends in the 24-inch line Of pipe in Char don Street, - I would recommend that these be taken out and the line straightened. The iron box on the Tremont Street Bridge is so constructed that it is impossible to get at the pipes contained therein, to drive the joints; and as one or more of the joints are now leaking slightly, I would urge the necessity Of reconstructing the box upon some plan which will allow repairs to be easily made.
