This is an incredible movie. It is set around the early 1900's during a time of massive social change and follows Jack Reed and Louise Bryant's relationship against the backdrop of revolution.
My favourite scenes are the ones with Emma Goldman, who was one of the most amazing revolutionaries to ever live. The scene where the train comes into the station and soldiers are being lifted off badly wounded, and Louise is looking for Jack made me so tense and then just gasp when Louise sees Jack.
I really recommend this movie, it is one of the great epics of cinema.
A bit of trivia: When producing this film, the director was trying to get the actors into a more revolutionary mindset with anti-capitalist pro-worker rhetoric. The actors then went on strike demanding higher pay.
