I expected it to be great – what else can you expect from the funniest thing since The Goons – but this surpassed any expectation.
Any casual fans of Red Dwarf will enjoy this DVD Set – It has good video and sound quality, and is generally far superior to video, however, the people who will really appreciate this DVD set are the Red Dwarf Nuts, such as myself – It has a whole host of extras, including: a documentary on how red dwarf came about, smeg ups, deleted scenes, and what I found to be best, a cast commentary through all 6 of the episodes – You are hearing Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Norman Lovett and Danny John Jules in a casual setting, talking among themselves, and this is entirely unlike any normal cast commentary in that rather than tell you a bunch or crap you didnt care about, they tell you hilarious stories, and joke among themselves, giveing a unique insight into the lives of the actors themselves – I laughed just as much during the commentary as during the actual episodes.
This DVD Set is a must have for any Red Dwarf Nut, and without a doubt in my mind, the best purchase I have ever made in my life.
