On the surface, there is an unlikely buzz around this album of Elvis covers by 63 year-old Dunedin grandmother, Erica Miller. Media from TV One, Kim Hill and Metro to the bnets and Real Groove have all jumped aboard to endorse it.

But this is an album that runs deep. Erica Miller – Shayne Carter's mum to you – has given an outstanding selection of tunes by the King an authentic, soulful outing, packing the tunes with raw emotion and a strident delivery.

The media storm continues over the next month with features running in the Herald and the Sunday Star Times, and more promised. There is a main centre tour by the Erica Miller Experience taking shape for early October. This is a great, powerful and somewhat unique debut.
