Fantastic music, engaging storytelling, smooth controls. You won't find
'em here.
This “New” Ratchet and Clank title is a spinoff of the original game, it
features worse controls than the originals, many glitches, and areas that can
easily be skipped, as well as a storyline that can only be described as stripped
down, and mixed in with the previous games to try and make sense, but instead
just devolve into nonsense.
The music is bland, and not special or unique (A BIG part of the previous
games) The characters no longer have personalities, and are instead turned into
husks of their former selves (Especially our titular duo. There's no tension
between them, or anything)
Many planets from the original game have been removed, those which stayed
have been expanded on, sometimes for the better, but usually for the worst.
The controls are fairly awful. The attack button is now the same button as
the one to activate your swingshot. In past games, this hasn't been a problem,
but for some reason, the game decides to cancel out the prompt at random.
They also removed my favourite part of the game, which was the giant clank
battles.
Ultimately, I'd say avoid this, and just buy the PS3 remake. This game is
shallow and boring.
The movie is good, though.
