Jeanne Willis was born in St Albans, Hertfordshire. She wrote her first story when she was five years old and had her first picture book published at the age of twenty-one. Jeanne has now written over seventy books, including poetry and novels, and has won several prestigious children's book awards. She lives in North London with her family of creatures that features two children, a couple of cats and some pet rats.
