Qwan: v. 2 by Aki Shimizu
Sorry, this product is not currently available to order

Qwan is attacked as he sleeps by Daki's servants Hakuhiko and Seishigaku! Qwan doesn't give up however, managing to eat one of the bug demons, but he is stopped before he can eat the Daki! Seishigaku reveals Daki's past to Qwan, how she was raised in a forest full of bugs, her friends, by her mother, a snake known as Touda. When a young Daki fell ill, Touda called upon the "Spider," Yuushi, who insisted that in order to be cured he needed to take her with him out of the forest and into the human world. Touda reluctantly agrees, but sends two wasps, Hakuhiko and Seishigaku, to look after her. Qwan agrees not to eat the wasp demon Seishigaku if he and Daki take him to find the "Essential Arts of Peace". Yuushi flips learning of Daki and Seishigaku's betrayal, but leads Touda, now a very large serpent, to Qwan, her "daughter's kidnapper," in hopes that Touda will kill Qwan for him. Qwan's group meets up with Aman who guides them through the palace, where Chikei suddenly appears, transported by Qwan's mysterious companion Teikou. In the palace, they encounter Touda, who pleads with Daki to return to the forest, saying the bugs will die if she doesn't. Touda herself is apparently on her last legs, giving Qwan the idea to eat her before she dies anyway. Daki's adamant objection to Qwan's suggestion spurs Touda on to use her last strength against Qwan, the perceived kidnapper of her daughter, and a battle ensues! In the carnage, Seishigaku reluctantly kills Touda, or so they think. Touda, with her dying strength, leaps up and bites off Qwan's right arm! Daki makes peace with her mother, and the group escapes before Yuushi can find them. Qwan, however, after apologizing to Daki and spitting out Hakuhiko, falls unconscious. Yuushi is furious that he couldn't get to the "Essential Arts of Peace" in time, but quickly learns that Qwan's companions didn't get all 170 volumes either. Aman quickly realizes someone got there before them as well, but is dismayed at the scroll they did retrieve, reading "The Rule of Heaven is already over." Qwan, who had managed to sit up, suddenly falls over in pain as smoky visions of war surround the group and a bizarre looking fetal creature appears over Qwan. As the visions dissipate, Qwan once again falls unconscious.
