1904. Fiction based on the famous Adams family and life in Massachusetts in the 1860's. The first of three books with Miss Mary Dana and Quincy Adams Sawyer as amateur detectives, the story centers on the intrigues and sinister goings-on in the village of Mason's Corner (later named Fernborough) near Boston, Massachusetts. It is a folksy book about the people of New England and their antics. Quincy Adams Sawyer was one of the earliest motorized detectives.
