This work was necessitated by the non existence of any meaningful Social Security System in Nigeria coupled with my short experience in the Pension Management Industry. These two but very important factors propelled me into researching with the aim of coming up with an all encompassing pension scheme that would cater for each and every Nigerian citizen. Based on the major findings from the analysis of data the followings problems were discover: inadequate funding, huge pension liabilities, ageing problem and mismanagement of pension funds, conclusions were drawn and recommendations were made on how to improve the new pension scheme in Nigeria.
