Psychological Testing by Dave Bartram
Sorry, this product is not currently available to order

The BPS has recently launched a new qualification: The Level A certificate in test administration. This is aimed at people, generally working within HR, who administer psychometric tests in organisations - eg ability and aptitude tests. There are currently 30,000 test administrators - it is NOT currently mandatory for these people to gain this qualification, but the BPS, via the Psychological Testing Centre, www, are heavily promoting it. This proposal is for a self-study guide for people wanting to take this certificate. All learning requirements would be included - to gain the certificate, they would need to study from this guide, then arrange to be assessed by a BPS qualified instructor. The content would be derived from the current Level A Open Learning Programme, which is aimed at occupational psychologists and others who are training for the certificate of competence in occupational testing - ie a level above the test administration certificate. Sales of this pack (1994, priced at GBP175) stand at 1225, although only 50 of these have been through Blackwell. The content will be rewritten to make it much more accessible and suitable for the target market. This new product will be heavily marketed by the Psychological Testing Centre, mainly to HR professionals, and also to the potential assessors (occupational psychologists). There is a large potential market, but it is not yet sure how much uptake there will be for the certificate, hence the conservative sales projection. The price is quite acceptable for the market. There is a strong need to tie instructors in to this product - the authors will write a guide for assessors, which will be distributed free of charge to the full list of qualified instructors.
