Description

Psychoanalysis in Contexts provides a comprehensive overview of the central issues and debates in contemporary psychoanalytic theory. It also offers guidelines for the reformulation of social, political and cultural theory in the light of psychoanalysis. It includes discussion of the nature of subjectivity and its realtion to the unconscious; the inter-relation of unconscious sexuality and gender; and the psycho-political dimensions of the late modern age. Psychoanalysis in Contexts will become a standard reference point for students and professionals in psychoanalysis and contemporary theory and for all those in the social sciences interested in the psychoanalytic reformulation of contemporary social thought.
