Description

Recently there has been a major upsurge in global health interest, coinciding with an equal upsurge in international collaboration and mission trips. Whether for cross cultural educational purposes, medical missions, professional development, church missions, or NGO partnership developments, many first time and repeat travellers are embarking on exciting journeys to parts unknown. From predeparture plans through travel and return (or re-entry), the life-transforming experiences intersect at multiple levels: global health, scientific collaborations, vibrant cultures, local economies and ecologies, religious beliefs and practices, and partnership building, among others. This book adequately prepares potential travellers and collaborators for optimal outcomes and sustainable impact and provides the essential interdisciplinary approach to inspiring, challenging, and educating through stories, as well as research analyses and recommendations towards achieving optimal outcomes and sustainable impacts.
