I have been using the traditional ‘smoker box’ for 20 years. It finally succummed to age and lots of use. I decided to purchase this item which looked good and had greater capacity. I used it once. While the fish was smoked, the exterior of the smoker was blackened and burnt. Even the paint on the support frame was bubbled and peeling. The reason is that there is far too much air entering the burner chamber allowing a rich flame which generates carbon. The flame rose out of the support frame slots and blackened/damaged the unit. I could not recommend this smoker to anyone and it should be withdrawn from sale and redesigned.
