Description

The loss of a baby is still something of a taboo subject; friends and family struggle with what to say, and women frequently end up feeling isolated as they try to deal with their grief.

Miscarriage and stillbirth are extremely common; one in four women will experience some kind of pregnancy loss. In Australia and New Zealand alone, six babies are stillborn everyday; in a third of these cases the cause is unknown. As women start their families later in life, and increasingly use fertility treatments, the risk of miscarriage rises significantly.
Zoe Taylor aims to dispel the myths surrounding miscarriage and stillbirth, explaining in simple terms what is known about the causes, and most importantly, offering support and insight from real women's stories. Zoe is a journalist and has been a specialist health reporter for over ten years. She has had four miscarriages and recently gave birth to her second child.

This book is for the many women who have experienced pregnancy loss, and also for their partners, relatives and friends.
