Description

This volume is one in the Casebooks series, which presents an integrated selection of readings, with an introduction which explores the theme and discusses the literary and critical issues involved. The series is intended to act as a springboard for further reading and study. The selection of critical commentary is arranged in sections which reflect the different exerging concepts which eventually shaped the Romantic movement, such as Poetic Diction, Nature, Landscape and Description, Poetry and Society, Poetry and Religion, and the Self and the Imagination. J R WATSON, is Professor of English in the University of Durham. His publications include Wordsworth's Vital Soul (1982), English Poetry of the Romantic Period (1985) and the Casebook on Browning's 'Men and Women' and Other Poems.
