These fine, wise poems are acute in observation and sensibility, modest, exacting of the writer as well as the reader, repaying repeated readings. The reader may well have the impression of being in a foreign country and having the good fortune to have hired a particularly knowledgeable guide.
Diana Bridge's poems have appeared in many literary journals, and she has published two earlier collections, Landscape with Lines and The Girls on the Wall. She holds a Ph.D. in Chinese literature from the Australian National University. She lives in Wellington, New Zealand.
