Great to see British TV getting back to this kind of classic work. Atmospheric, great characters and a sense of history.

Having read all the books I'm happy to say that the series lines up well with the books. A must have for historical romance fiction lovers!

"Brilliant period drama"

Love this period drama. Keeps you on the edge of your seat. Characters that you love and characters that you love to hate. Keeps getting better and better.

Returning home following his arrest in the finale of series one, Ross soon faces a new fight for freedom when George Warleggan tries desperately to steal his mine and have him hanged as a revolutionary. Crippled by debts, Ross and Francis strive to heal old wounds by joining forces in a new venture, while buried passions threaten to bubble to the surface once again. Amid catastrophic losses, significant triumphs and shattered relationships, they must learn to settle their differences once and for all, but at what cost?

Poldark Season 2 Reviews

“BBC One's sweeping romantic drama has returned, with glorious cast, gorgeous locations and sweaty torsos all present and correct. And it doesn't waste time in getting on with the action.” –

“The political intrigue and machinations between Warleggen's scheming and Poldark's unshakeable pride and principle give this underrated series a great deal of depth.” –

“[Aidan Turner] strips Poldark’s Henry Higgins-like tendencies of any potentially unseemly qualities, which helps to make him easy to root for. Like everything else in Poldark, he’s old-fashioned and winning.” – Boston Globe
