"Better than I expected"
5 stars"

From what I'd read, I wasn't expecting too much, I wanted the AV out option (I'm one of the few that actually has an extensive UMD collection). When I got it out of the box my expectations were instantly exceeded. This thing is light and very clearly so. It's also nicer to hold and the piano black looks great. I'm glad I made the switch. Loading times are faster, surprisingly so. Tekken DR loaded quicker than usual, the web browser loads pages faster and load pages that used to give me a ‘run out of memory’ message. The screen also seems a brighter – but that could just be my wishful thinking. Even if it was the same brightness, that wouldn't matter, the LCD on the PSP has always been nice anyway. The only negative is that it still feels like you're holding a piece of fine china, one drop on a hard floor and you're in trouble. There are no accessories available yet, so my old latex cover won't fit it, but the Slim and Lite will fit in the Logitch hard case, but not as tight of course. Also, I have to wait a month for the AV cable. I was looking forward to playing PSP games and watching UMDs on my wide screen, if only for the novelty. I hope the PSP grows in popularity, I think Sony could have done a better job at marketing the other aspects, like playing music using ATRAC codecs which are better than AAC. With this new lighter version and increasing memory sizes, the PSP might be able to take it to the iPod, if Sony combine those things with good marketing. After all, a PSP can play gnarly games, web browse, play music, photos, the list goes on…
