Last Christmas I was gifted a standard PS4. I was looking at getting a second PS4 setup to facilitate my family when news of the PS4 Pro dropped. So, I went out and brought a 55' 4k Sony Bravia TV, and picked up the Pro to go with it. After setting everything up correctly (very easy to do but be sure to do it) I got into a couple of my favorite games and immediately noticed the difference. Both graphically and performance-wise there was a noticeable improvement. I'd been playing a lot of Uncharted 4 and Battlefield 1 either side of getting the Pro so I had the point of reference. BF1 ran smooth as silk. The game just felt more responsive, and looked better too. The Pro was a worthy addition for performance alone. :D

So far I'm very happy with the Pro. Currently playing Mafia 3 plugged into my 4K TV and have noticed the difference in graphics and faster load times from my old PS4. Since I can't afford a decent PC this is definitely the best option, it runs smooth and the graphics are awesome. Personally I don't care about the lack of a 4K Blu-Ray player as I don't play DVDs. Only downside is it is slightly bigger and a bit ugly compared to the original and the new slim. Once again the service from Mighty Ape was great, arrived the day after ordering.

Very good 4k for its price even tho its not native

I had the original PS4 for a couple years and got this not long ago the difference is really noticeable and has made my time gaming a very enjoyable experience.

Brought in preperation for Andromeda. Sleek and minimal look. Fairly compact for whats inside. Overall just a great machine 10/10

Initially I was disappointed by how little of a performance boost this was compared to the standard PS4. Unless a game's FPS is uncapped you really wont notice much of a difference at standard high definition. I realized this is meant to be played on a 4k T.V./ Monitor at 30fps, otherwise there really isn't much of an improvement. Over all I can't complain as it does what it set out to do, which is make 4k gaming more accessible.

As the other reviewers mentioned, no 4K Blu-Ray. So not worth upgrading from the normal PS4. Just wait for the next gen console to be released from Sony.

I love Playstation, I've owned every console. But this is just a waste of money if you're looking at upgrading from a regular PS4. If you don't yet own a PS4, then go for it!

Sold my PS4 to get the pro version, and I got a 4K TV as well for a complete setup. Quality wise, there is a difference between playing games on 4K and 1080p, but not enough to justify selling your old PS4. Great for newcomers into Playstation though.

Really happy with the PRO for the price, its a great introduction into 4K gaming.The titles that support HDR look stunning and upcoming titles that will fully utilize the PRO hardware will be jaw dropping for a console. If you own a 4K TV this is a must have :)

If only free games would have been better

Publish this! It meets all guidelines and paid $600 for it too, and already is now $540 etc etc… want legal intervention– Print. Fairness. Hired out blu rays and did not play… Must apparently 'authorize playback of dvds and blu rays via internet connection". Am moving into new property, do not have connection, may never have connection. It should play both dvds and blu rays out of the box. Update – finally packed up and took to mate's place in another town and updated it!! Madness. I also paid extra for this Pro and one controller, when could have had slimline with two controllers and gold or silver for waaaay less, but got this as NZ extorts us into chasing the optical digital port. This port does NOT exist on the slim-line, now the only alternative to the Pro. Go figure. But imagine my surprise when, having upgraded, I went to play all my cds (yes, CDs – some of us have great stereos / amps / receivers and speakers and actually like how music sounds) on the ps4 once hooked up optical, but would not play ONE. Told me to clean the discs patronizingly and with classic blame shifting ethos… Wow! Why then was I able to feed each failed-to-play disc into my ps3 and play it straight away– Well- why!- Have had to keep ps3, though plays up and on blink and when needed to sell to off-set cost of buying the PS4 Pro, solely to play cds and blu rays etc… Even if do have internet connection it will not play CDs. Correct!-- Ripped off. Could I call to sort out- No. Mightyape don't have a phone number anymore. But that's to suit us, naturally… Makes sense. Oh and the courier guy did not deliver it… He missed me on what was next-day admittedly super super quick delivery (so expected next day to be honest, but impressed came so fast) and then just dropped it at the post shop in town. I, with no vehicle, had to walk it home, in the rain. And only told there when I rang up about, while waiting at home for re-delivery. Thanks for that Courier Post. Sigh.......

Good for gaming and dvd`s ,but be warned WONT work with top of the line monitors. check before you buy

Finally managed to get my hands on one of these, along with Horizon Zero Dawn & The Witcher III Wild Hunt GOTY from my work bonus (it ain't something us normal bill paying folk can afford otherwise), Horizon is complete and the graphics are amazing, controller is comfortable even though the touch pad takes a little getting used to, sound coming from the controller at certain times as well is a nice touch for those moments where you don't need it blasting across the room. Whilst I did get a couple of times it did lag, understandably there was a lot going on at the time and this could be down to the long hours it was putting in as well, also the Share & Options button I find is too close to the touchpad, when playing in a darkened room or even just trying to find the buttons by feel, even once you have found the button, most of the time I activated the touch pad instead, this can be easily remedied by sticking a little rubber pad on top to raise it a bit and make it stand out more so no biggie. Overall an excellent console and just trying to find the time to get started on the next game.

I have been a big fan of Playstation and I have managed to collect all versions of current and past consoles except PS3 Phat, PS3 super slim, PS4 original and slim. I waited patiently for Pro and when it finally came out I was dying to get my hands on especially with a recent upgraded 4KTV. I am loving the graphics and faster loading time on Pro and the games availability on Sony's catalogue is truly outperforming Microsoft at every aspect! No one will regret buying this piece of art and even with Project Scorpio on the way!

If you're looking for a device to combine a gaming console (which would be the primary function) and an entertainment system (if you have an older TV on which you can't stream Netflix or Youtube, etc.), then look no further.

PS4 Pro offers excellent gaming experience, stunning visuals, high frame rates and there's a variety of titles available to keep you busy. On top of that, add all the extra features like streaming apps (as above, plus TVNZ on Demand, Spotify, etc.) which turn a gaming console into an entertainment device that everyone can use. Also, if you're sharing a TV with someone else, you can easily stream your gameplay to your laptop or phone by using PS4 Remote Play.

This is probably the best PS4 Pro bundle available anywhere in NZ now thanks to 2 extra games (and extra-fast pick up confirmation).

Smooth gameplay, stunning graphics, and awesome games. What more do a gamer want out of a console- Even the console is designed in a sleek 3-tier structure. I love the connectivity, the performance, and you can play any pre-owned game! The only thing I could perceive as an issue is backwards compatibility. Otherwise, it's a tricked out playstation on steroids and I love it.
