Denver’s Gila, a producer supported by Benji B on BBC Radio 1 from the outset of his solo career, debuts on Benji’s Deviation label with new six-track EP.

First making waves as part of US rap group Gorgeous Children, it was Benji’s support on Radio 1 that first alerted XL Recordings to his intricate and abstract beat-making. Gila released his XL debut Genkidama in 2016.

Pick Six builds on the territory explored in ‘Genkidama’ and sees Gila continue to toy with hardbody US rap production techniques and sound palettes, casting them into a hazy, tripped-out flux all of his own making.

A natural fit at Deviation, Pick Six marks the best yet from Gila — a producer very much on the rise.
