Description

This book explores landmark criticism on a writer who continues to command critical attention. Author Biography:

PETER RAWLINGS is Reader in English and American Literature and Head of English and Drama at the University of the West of England, Bristol, UK. He has published widely on Henry James, American theories of fiction in the Nineteenth century, and the American reception of Shakespeare. His publications include Henry James and the Abuse of the Past (2005) and American Theorists of the Novel (2006). His current research project is Transatlantic Sentimentalism: Henry James and the Empirical Tradition, and he is editing an edition of Constance Fenimore Woolson's Anne.
