This title is aimed at the complete beginner who wants to learn the basics of painting in acrylics.The contents is divided into two main sections - 'The Technique and its Possibilities' and 'Practical Exercises'. The reader will learn all the different effects that can be created using acrylics, and will start practising these techniques straightaway in specially devised 'practice sheets'.The second section of the book contains eight step-by-step projects to complete. Each project is interspersed with special 'Notes on Effects' - features that focus on the technical aspects used in the painting projects. The book closes with a profile of the artist Jean Dubuffet, a leading exponent of the acrylic medium.

Author Biography

Gabriel Martin Roig has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and has written many books on the history of art and art techniques. He also teaches in various art schools and academies.
