Author Biography

Jon Cloake taught History for 35 years to students aged 11-18. He has 33 years examining experience, 25 years of which have been at a senior level for GCSE and A-level. As a senior examiner he has been involved in curriculum development, as well as setting and assessment of examination papers. He was Head of Humanities and an Assistant Principal in a large local authority school. Jon's first A-level textbook was published in 1985 and he has written a number of History textbooks for GCSE during his career. Aaron Wilkes is the Series Editor for Oxford AQA History for GCSE. He is now one of the leading history authors in school publishing, as well as being Head of History at Castle High School, Dudley. Aaron knows how important it is to always be armed with a bank of tasks to stretch and challenge more able students.
