Adi can stand tall in the ranks Aotearoa's mighty bedroom producers, and his debut album Our Place is further testament to the downbeat sound that Wellington has earned for itself. Obviously a gifted musician, Adi's talents include the electronic composition, acoustic guitar and singing. The bulk of the album is composed, and performed by the one-man-boudoir-band.
The album is gently driven by a dub engine room, with slowly rolling bass lines. The melody and lyrical top end lifts heavily from R&B, and is complimented with liberal licks of funk. There is an unmistakable influence of other Wellington based musicians throughout the album, and you can catch strains of Trinity Roots, Fat Freddy's Drop, Fly My Pretties and the Black Seeds.
