Inventor Benjamin Wilkes has just buried his wife and, despite everything he knows to do, finds himself pulling away from his daughter, Hope. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he has studied classical and modern literature, focusing on various theories about free will and predetermination. S.L.
