Purchased on Mighty Ape

For a game that is nearly ten years old, I wasn't expecting much and I only bought it cause the price dropped to $20 from $30 and that's the only reason why I even bothered… I'm so glad I did… and now I'm actually laughing cause had I known it was this good… I would of paid the original amount whether $30 or higher.

Its got a cool Epic tale enhanced with a true cinematic structure that gets you into your character and for a game that was released in 2001, the unrivaled and revolutionary animation is off the charts considering the date (Better than some games made today).

The combat system is very basic but it does get interesting as you find weapons that can be upgraded for special attacks. Whats cool about this? Well, each weapon represents an element like Fire(Heavy Sword), Wind(Combat Pole) and Lightning(Light Sword) and each has a level one stage up to level 3.

Its not all slices and dices, there are a lot of puzzles to crack, cryptic messages to unravel and codes to decipher… its a little frustrating at first cause you just wanna crack the codes and puzzles right away, but I realized as I was playing that you find clues on your quest and you can journey back to those spots to solve the mystery which results with a reward.

So if you like to experience a world with a Dark magical feel and a mysterious time and slay your way through legions and legions of demons…Then welcome to Earth ha ha ha ha Nah jokes… Buy this one right here before the price goes up… and put it in your console and be absorbed.

That's ONIMUSHA for ya!!!

"A real pre-Devil May Cry sleeper hit."
4 stars"

This game is a masterpiece – excellent graphics (for the time) and cool gameplay. This is the game that was the precursor to Devil May Cry. Purchase weapon upgrades, and learn new fighting styles as you earn new weapons. (So it's a lot like the original Devil May Cry.) Not as fast paced and action packed as Dante, but definately a solid purchase.

Onimusha: Warlords is an epic saga of 16th century Japan when warlords fought brutal hand-to-hand battles for rulership and power. The game weaves actual historical accounts and Capcom's own fictional storylines into one epic drama. Taking place in Feudal Japan (1560), Onimusha is set in the civil war time ruled by the feared warlord Nobunaga Oda.

* Character graphics are created at an average of over 10,000 polygons per character -with realistic emotion and character animation.

* Highly detailed 3D rendered backgrounds.

* Dramatic storyline blends actual Japanese history with fictional and non-fictional characters.

* Background animation technology provides innovative special effects that add even more realism to the game.
