Author Biography:

Jack Nadin worked at North East Lancashire's last deep coal mine, the Hapton Valley Colliery, from 1964 to 1971. From a line of miners, he has a passion for anything to do with local history in his home town of Burnley, Lancashire - especially relating to the coal mining industry and industrial archaeology of the area. He is a regular contributor of local history articles to newspapers and magazines in and around Burnley and has written a number of other books and booklets on coalmining and local history.
