Excerpt from Officials and Employees of the City of Boston and County of Suffolk With Their Residence, Compensation, Etc., 1908: Prepared and Published in Accordance With the Revised Ordinances, and an Order of the County Commissioners of the County of Suffolk Ordered, That the Sherifi and other officers of Suffolk County are hereby requested to prepare and furnish to the County Auditor, on or before the fifth day of May, lists of the oficials and employees appointed or employed by them and paid from the County Treasury on the weekly pay-roll for the week ending Thursday, April 30, 1908, or on the monthly pay-roll payable May 1 1908. Such lists shall give the names, residences, designations of, compensation of, and date of election or appointment of, each of such officials and employees; and it shall be the duty of the County Auditor to verify the said lists from the pay-rolls.
