luckily i got this on sale because unfortunately, hot things do NOT stay hot for very long in this one. i usually just have hot tea/hot water in it and the many times ive used it since ive had it (for about a week), it always feels like the last 1/3 of the liquid is room temp (feelsbadman). it could be becos if i am using the cup/lid then the heat dissapates faster- not sure however the conclusion is that is does NOT keep hot things hot for 12hrs – its more like 2 hours and only 2/3 of the contents… Absolute shame becos it is a good looking thermos.
