In the summer of 1989, young Jayce Bluwist and his family move to the small town of North Cardwork, Fairwood.He quickly makes friends in his new neighborhood after arriving and, years later, in 1995, Jayce and the other denizens of the small town face a multitude of tragic and challenging events they must work through.North Cardwork includes a blunt protagonist, two sets of twins, a friendly boy, a bully and his two subordinates, a monosyllabic girl, an agile middle child, a preacher's son, love shared by friends and family, a local oddball, woodland walks, a troubled artist, groups of close friends, local tragedies, exploration of local areas, a chummy animal lover, and a less-than-desirable neighbor.
