"Fun for the whole family"
5 stars"

Gaming has become too focused on graphics and who's looks the best and started to lack on game play. The Wii finally has brought this to a reality. Sure it may not look cool graphically but hey who cares when you're having fun?? With the PS3 way overpriced and already owning a 360 this is a great and most welcomed addition to my family. And price wise its not badly priced where can u buy a console that has 5 games that automatically come with it? Even the mighty PS2 will cost more than 500 once you have added 3 games and a memory card! I say bring back the FUN to gaming!

Your case has not been laid to rest as it is all fan boy bull and it will leave its stench on all who are unfortunate enough to read it.

I agree with you that Nintendo is asking slightly more for the Wii than most had hoped for but its still, as you say $200 cheaper than the XBOX 360 and a whopping $700 cheaper than the PS3. So what is wrong with making money on what you are selling? Would you buy something for $120 and list it on Zillion for $90 the next day? Of course not, but that is exactly what the big shots at Sony and Microsoft are doing with there consoles, Nintendo is taking no risk, the 2 competitors are hoping like hell that they will make there money back on there Arcade and other online offerings and software sales.

What do you mean by your statement ‘if you already own a PS2 or XBOX you shouldn't purchase a Wii because they offer the same things’? If you are any sort of gamer you would know that you couldn't get a Nintendo experience on any other console besides a Nintendo. And if you have read any of the reviews for Zelda you would see that the controller only ad’s to the experience and takes nothing away from it, so if you are to play it on the Gamecube you wouldn't be playing entirely the same game!

Competitors have already tried to imitate the Wii's unique controller, and the competitors name is Sony, and I am hearing a lot of good things about SIXAXIS for the PS3, but it's not causing Nintendo to lose anything, in fact, Sony are the ones who have lost a handful of exclusive software titles that are now confirmed to be ported to

the 360 (big names such as GTA and Assasin's Creed).

So please stop talking about PC's and specs of other consoles because we have all heard it too many times before and they are all available on the product pages of these items. And I will say this one more time so that it might actually sink into your, and people with your mindset brains: No matter the capabilities of your console or PC, it is essentially how the games made for it make you feel and how much entertainment they provide you, and everything is capable of producing eye candy there is no doubt about it (Final Fantasy XII, Okami, Resident Evil 4, God Of War, Zelda etc…!!)

I will be giving the Nintendo Wii a chance this generation as Nintendo have never failed to deliver great titles to every one of there consoles or handheld!

"The TRUE"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Rather than dissecting Mr. Annonymous' “Innovative yet antiquated” review and breaking it down into every single invalid point he tried to make, I will simply say: Do you actually own a Wii?

Myself, I am more excited about the Wii than I have been about any product for a very long time. This is because I actually realize what the Wii is. The competition bores me, frankly. It's quite obvious that Mr. Annonymous has some kind of age-old anti-Nintendo bias. Please sir, go away and play with your super-quad-hyper processor console that plays – gasp – racing and sports games that were also – gasp – exactly the same gameplay experience on older consoles.

If you can't see how the Wii reinvigorates gaming and changes it for the better, please do your homework before reviewing.

Give me The Legend of Zelda or Wii Sports over Gears of War anyday.

"Apples and Oranges"
5 stars"

It's different, it offers something entirely new to the experience of gaming, or at least expands upon what was hinted at with the likes of buzz and eyetoy. Xbox 360 is adult gaming. PS3 is family, adult and children. Nintendo is family and children. All can be played by anyone…obviously, but the content is what I'm talking about. 360 goes for realism, far more R-rated games than any other console. Nintendo goes for fun, something that also has a place in gaming. But both are different. Do you want fun or realism. Do you want to get physical and laugh out loud. Or get completely ingrossed in an epic story like Gears of War (Zelda excluded.) My point is that you really can't compare these consoles as they are apples and oranges my friends. Pick the one that tastes best for you. I like Bananas personally. I give the Wii 5 stars for balls and innovation.

Re “Innovative yet antiquated” – Each to their own I guess, though you can't argue with gpstore's Top Sellers can you?

Wii: #1 in Games, #1 Overall PS3: #60 in Games, #76 Overall

Personally, I pre-ordered my Wii ages ago and I can't wait!! I think even my Grandfather will play some of these games (Wii Play, etc)

Go the Wii

"You have to own it!!!"
5 stars"

It is true PS3 will be superb in graphic etc, however, you can get a computer with Gefore 7950GT with cheaper price and better performance + more function. If you only want to play games, why choose a console that is less fun but way more expensive. PS3 will not stop the uprising of WII (examples can be found from US). WII is the one!!!!

"cant wait!!!"
5 stars"

i think its a step in the right direction for gaming as a whole broadening the gaming audiance… soon other companys will realize you can only upgrade so far… b4 you are forced to ‘borrow’ other peoples ideas making games more enjoyable and fresh. nintendo for me is on to something, the wii hasn't only revolutionized the ‘gaming experiance’, it is affordable for me:) and has plenty of thirdparty support. with nintendo's full force behind it (franchises like zelda, mario, metroid etc etc) it applys the wii remote into games with precision(not just an attchment, ‘putting u in the game’) as well as a killer factor of fun nintendo puts the wii at the top of my list!. at first i was worried about 480p display and weaker graphics when playing gears of war. but i feel it wont be a big issue as pc mag mentioned “within half an hour you won't care” (the pc will do fine for me). i havent even played it , and thats like its selling point!!!!!. cant wait.

"New generation of gaming."
5 stars"

I agree with you guys. Most of the games now are just focused on Graphics. just to see who's better. But the Wii is finally bringing down some good gameplay to your home. with your family! Playing games with your family? you cant argue with that. my dad is already interested in Wii. i cant wait to get it.

And plus people. not just gpstores top seller

also in america. Wii already sold more than ps3.

"Innovative yet antiquated"

If you already own a PS2 or XBox then you shouldn't waste money on the Wii. If you already own a Gamecube you will be able to play Zelda Twilight Princess on that.

If the Wii's controller system were to be copied by a competitor (and that WILL happen) then Nintendo will lose all 3rd party support for the Wii.

The system is also WAY overpriced, which is unsurprising given that Nintendo has stated that they are making a profit on each console sold (in other words they are passing their risk onto the consumer). Consider that for an extra $200 you could be buying a system with a triple cored 3.2Ghz processor with a graphics chip equivalent to a Geforce 7800 and the Wii suddenly looks like a ripoff by comparison.

To put things into perspective, if you were upgrading your PC would you buy a graphics card from 3 generations ago just because it came with a controller that offered a different but not necessarily better way of playing games? Of course not – you'd buy the controller seperately.

Nintendo decided that instead of releasing the controller seperately that the would reincorporate it into the Gamecube and charge you $499 instead of the $149 the Gamecube was most recently selling for.

I rest my case.
