"How can everyone be so misinformed."
5 stars"

Do people not realise that you can't just take the american price and exchange it. You have to add 15% GST plus the additional cost of localisation including local rating boards, registration, transport etc. Are we all forgeting that the ps4 was $650 at launch and yet the american price was 349usd. Do you see the difference- In fact nintendo seems to be doing it cheaper than they did. Be informed.

I see people complaining, let's not forget it's a portable handset and a HD console in one so still well worth initial the price

"Expensive but worth it!!"
5 stars"

Preview by Dan on 16th January, 2017

Yes its expensive @ nzd 550 but unfair to convert it back and say its on Nzd420 in the states as you have to include duty etc. And why would you want to devalue a system from the get go- Its clearly a different proposition from a PS4 or Xbone which are good but I want creativity and innovation in my gaming and when it comes to that then no one does better than Nintendo. If I want to play COD then I'll get an Xbone.

"ZELDA - Yes please!!!!"
5 stars"

As a long time Zelda fan i'm definitely getting my hands on one of these. Also looking forward to Mario Kart which is due out around April, the thought of being able to take the Switch with me anywhere I go and just plonk it on a table, hand a friend a Joycon controller and start racing sounds brilliant, should be heaps of fun. The launch line up could be better, although only 2 games are currently listed on Mighty Ape at the moment there are 5 confirmed games at this stage, I guess theres a small chance another 1 or 2 could be announced in the coming weeks, who knows. Any way looking forward to Zelda.

"This is a start of a great thing"

Nintendo back baby!!! Reports of the switch selling big overseas is real. Why go for a emulated console with Sony and Microsoft when all they do is upgrade the hardware every few years and call it a new product and keep doing it on and on and on…Innovation is they way of building stuff of tomorrow and without innovation there is no products for the future. So the price is high and people are really upset and people are complaining. But it wasn't long ago when Sony and Microsoft consoles where very hi priced as well. I think it's the norm to launch things these days In a hi price. Nintendo games is all about fun and also about gathering a bunch of people having a good time. Who new that you can play Skyrim anywhere you want!!! So I think we have a winner on this one and it has all the DNA of every Nintendo Product produced and that is a good thing!!! :)

"Really screwed up on the launch price ...."
1 stars"

Preview by Kevin on 14th January, 2017

$548 + $119 for a pro controller, and $99 for Zelda. $766 for one game insane. Months before anything else cool releases. Save your money this is going to be a huge flop.

Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single-player and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video game play styles.

At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch dock that connects the console to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting the Nintendo Switch console from the dock, it will instantly transition to handheld mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home now travels with you. The portability of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display. It brings the full home gaming system experience with you to the park, on a train, in a car, or to a friend’s apartment.

Gaming springs into action by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of the Nintendo Switch console. One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con controllers can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options. They can easily click back into place or be slipped into a Joy-Con grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, if preferred, the gamer can select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to use instead of the Joy-Con controllers. Furthermore, it is possible for numerous people to bring their Nintendo Switch consoles together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition.
