The best action ninja flick in a long time very enjoyable
No there is no plot. No there is no substance. No there is no particular achievement in acting, directing or anything that will win an Oscar.
What this movie does have however is action. Lots and lots of action. And when you go to an action movie, action is what your looking for. I didn't go into the theatre expecting Ben-Hur. I went in expecting ninjas fighting in very gory fights. And lo and behold, I was rewarded.
It was so blatantly obvious that the Wachowski brothers had had some sort of involvement in the film judging by the style of the fights. The fight scence are where this movie comes alive. They're stylish, fast and look truly awesome.
Enjoy this movie for what it is. Don't expect more than you think you will get. Go for the fights, remember the fights. Forget the plot.
Fights are fast and furious. Red paint and body parts everywhere.
