"Another good album like City of Evil"
4 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This album, like City of Evil, sits about that middle of their albums. There are some really good songs like Nightmare and Welcome to the Family but the rest aren't as memorable although still awesome! It was tough comparing this to City of Evil because in the case of both albums there are better and worse Ax7 CDs, however the one song that makes this just a bit better than CoE, is the track ‘So Far Away’, not only is it a suprisingly emotional song for Ax7, but it's just such a beautiful song and is my favourite of the album. It also is a clear heart felt farewell to their drummer, Jimmy ‘The Rev’ after he passed away between CoE and Nightmare. Unfortunately track 7 is awful and I skip it every time.

Description

Nightmare is the upcoming fifth studio album by American metal band Avenged Sevenfold Warner Bros. Records; it was produced by Mike Elizondo and mixed in New York City by noted engineer Andy Wallace. Nightmare is the first record without James "The Rev" Sullivan performing drums after his death in December 2009, although he still wrote some of the songs before his passing. Mike Portnoy, from Dream Theater, performed as the drummer for this album in his place and will play with the band for all the upcoming tours through the end of 2010; And, as a tribute, The Rev's vocals are still on the album.
