Description

Dewey Chan, the senior editor of GHI (Green House Ink) the world's largest publishing firm, has rushed a first galley proof edition to Dr. Gum, personally. Over dinner the disoriented dentist knocks his lemon tea onto the parchments. A mysterious 'typo' appears. Dewey apologises and offers him a tour of the facility in Guangzhou, China immediately. Dr. Gum discovers the typo is actually an embedded hidden message. Dewey takes Dr. Gum to Dr. Chin, an old blind ancient Chinese herbalist to attempt to decipher the ominous message. He simply warns them to be very careful. An apparition of the ageing alchemist in the subway warns Dr. Gum who urges Dewey to follow the elusive form. They escape a horrific fateful subway explosion. Dewey and Dr. Gum stay one step ahead of the Hong Kong police department in the deadly spree of seemingly random attacks. They are invited to Macau's casinos and immersed deeper into the depths of a sinister power struggle. Is it a carefully crafted cover for a power hungry billionaire, Gargoyle? Is he funding the bizarre battle intent on eradicating the pointless paper publishing industry much like the Opium wars of the past? His dynamic digital empire is rapidly replacing the paperbacks to create a paperless society. He plans to put GHI out of business permanently.
