KATIE HULL SYPNIESKI has worked with English Language Learners at the secondary level for twenty years and has taught English and ELD at Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento, California, for the last thirteen years. Ferlazzo and Sypnieski are the coauthors of The ESL/ELL Teacher's Survival Guide from Jossey-Bass.
