Author Biography:

Johan J Botha has been a South African Wildlife photographer since 1993 and in 2019, at the time of this printing, was still active in this pursuit with the emphasis on action wildlife photography. His images have won the animal behaviour sections of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year (UK) and Natures Best (USA) . Natures Best image /video entries have also been displayed in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington with more than 6.5 million visitors a year. The overall winner of the Getaway/Fujifilm Wildlife international competition in South Africa, this recogintion earned him the title of South African Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Botha holds honours from the Photographic Societies of various countries, including the USA, UK, Australia, Europe and South Africa. Recognised as an international photographic educator, Botha has judged competitions in Australia, the USA and Europe.
