M.W. Sbertoli was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1959. He grew up in a middle-class Catholic family and was an altar boy in the church he attended. His hobbies included music and sports. In later years, he moved to Florida, where heas lived ever since. He lived a simple life until the age of thirty-six, when he was struck down with a serious illness from smoking too much.
