I was lucky to see this at the 2021 NZ International Film Festival, and can't recommend it enough. It's a terrific survey of Gulpilil's career (which is immense!), but he's such a lovely and honest person, so the documentary is fascinating anyway. Best of all was his indigenous perspective on the concept of film-making, acting, and stories: he was very eloquent on this, to the point of very thoughtful philosophy. Teamed up with the astoundingly brilliant documentary about Bangarra, the Australian indigenous dance company, and 2021 was an incredible year for Aussie documentaries.
