Nathaniel Kahn, haunted by the obscurity surrounding his father's death, embarks on a personal journey to discover as much as he can about the man he knew to be his father despite the shadowiness of his knowledge about him. My Architect (2003), is the documentary film about Nathaniel's search for answers. It is a remarkable film. More than a biographical piece, it explores, albeit implicitly, the relationship between the design and the designer. The film is an immensely compelling and moving journey into human complexity, art and identity. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Description

A man, his buildings, his secret lives - a film by Nathaniel Kahn. A 2004 Academy Award® nominee for Best Documentary, My Architect looks at the remarkable life of Louis Kahn, one of the most important architects of the twentieth century. His dramatic death in 1974 - alone and unidentified in the men's room of New York's Penn Station - revealed a triple life: in addition to his wife and daughter, Kahn left behind two illegitimate children by different women with whom he had long-term relationships.

My Architect follows the five-year odyssey of Kahn's son, Nathaniel, as he travels the world to discover who his celebrated father was. My Architect is a riveting and highly emotional film and a fascinating portrait of an eccentric visionary and his chaotic life. Special Features: * Q&A With Nathaniel Kahn Featuring Extra Scenes and Rare Historical Footage of Louis Kahn * Theatrical Trailer * 12 Page Booklet With Rare Photos
