A good quality item for the price, and certainly bright enough to suit most conditions. Doesn't come with any branding or instructions though, leaving you to somewhat guess as to it's feature set and operation. For example, it charges with the older micro-usb style fitting under a rear rubber flap, and took some wiggling before a light indicated it was even charging. There's a small rubber button integrated as part of the flap, and this acts as the power switch (it's not coloured so there's no visual indication it's even there). Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to set the torch to start in one of it's three modes (bright/less bright/strobe) and to turn the torch off requires you press the button three times, stepping through each mode as you do so. If you're prone to being affected by strobe light effects, this would require you avert your eyes as you power it off. There is actually a fourth mode which is activated by holding down the power button after turning it on and activates what I assume is an S.O.S. Beam pattern, you can turn the torch off directly from this mode. Again, with no instructions this I discovered by trial and error. You can twist the head of the torch to alter the beam slightly, although using the telescopic feature seems to do the same thing, and more effectively. According the the box, this is considered sturdy enough to smash car window glass in an emergency, which is probably true given the construction. So certainly a torch with some quirks, particularly around turning it off. The rear rubber flap may be prone to wear and tear and given the charging and on/off button is there that may in time prove problematic. Otherwise a bright beam, quality construction and pretty good value for the relatively low price. The box has some sparse details, but a manual with more specific aspects of the torchs operation would have been handy though.
