Meet Monty - an endearing character whom young readers will more than mostly love. Montgomery Gerald Morris is a first-grader who has a nickname (Monty), a birthday (15 August), asthma and an inhaler. What he doesn't have is a brother or a sister, a pet, a best friend - or any friends at all. Sometimes he wishes he didn't have asthma, but mostly Monty spends his time figuring out how to do things his own way, like finding a pet, discovering a new hobby and making new friends.
Author Biography
Johanna Hurwitz is a former children's librarian and the author of many popular books for young readers. She says, "This is not a book about a sick boy. Monty is an average six-year-old, and asthma is part of his life, just as freckles or glasses are for others." Johanna lives in the USA. Anik McGrory has illustrated several books for children but this is her first book for Walker. She says, "Monty is an inspiring little guy who has been fun to draw and paint. His creativity and independent thinking remind me of my own son, Noel." Anik lives in the USA.
