The peculiar form of the arguments of the lunar perturbations imparts to these tables a greater degree of simplicity than that which characterises the solar tables, since, in most cases, they admit the employment of double arguments, whereby the extent of every such table is reduced to half the dimensions which otherwise it would be necessary to give to it.
