What a refreshing and addictive game. Kart racing is back BIG time with Modnation Racers. Create your own tracks, karts or characters and then upload them to the world. There's something in here for everyone. Everyone needs to have this game in their collection.

So I got this game after watching the trailers and gameplay videos, and while still very impressive it does have some bad points. so I will start with the good points: 4 – player splitscreen – always good to have, and still very rare for a next gen racer. Customisation – there are a massive amount of customisation that you can do to the vehicles/drivers, and you can make your own tracks

So now I have to move on to the bad points: The level of difficulty found in the career is a bit much and considering i'm only just over halfway through the career mode and I'm already struggling, I don't see most people being able to complete this game which is sad because all the best customisation parts have to be unlocked, considering this game is made for kids, i would have thought the developers would have taken this into account and lowered the difficulty a little bit, but apparantly not. The body shells for the vehicles are a bit limited at the moment but I would expect to see the same thing with LBP and there will probably be lots of DLC that will fix this problem. And one last thing: the power meter (or boost meter), (it's probably just me) but I find it annoying, having to use up your power for a shield, which I believe should have been a pickup, and the whole drifting thing (still might just be me) but I liked the way Mario Kart for the Nintendo 64 had it, on this game you are forced to drift, there is no other option, if you do not drift, you cant get power (boost/shield energy) and you will not be competitive. So although some of this games problems are just the way they made it, its still very fun, and is worth a look.

The customization… The 4-player racing… Addictive qualities… Taking the best from racing games like Crash Team Racing/ Mario Kart. Mashing it together with the customization aspects of games like Little Big Planet/ Disney Universe. Tis truly a game to get.

Fun But The Loading Times Are Little Bit Of A Problem Overal A Good Game

This game is the new standard for a kart racer on next-gen. You can create mods, tracks and karts and it is awesome online with racing & downloads of other players creations avaliable. Career is fun, if not slightly frustrating at times. from what I have played so far.

Only downsides are the load times (patch coming soon apparently), & I was getting disconnected during races a lot online which kinda sucked. Still a great game and well worth the money.

Fun karting game much like the CTR francise, with all the PS3-sleekness you'd expect. Huge modification capacity with both your in game persona and your kart plus online content very well done. Well worth its purchase price

I absolutely love this game! I never get sick of it, it's something you can play over and over again. It's truly like super-mario kart had a baby with little big planet. You can ‘pimp’ out your car and make heaps of variations, my favourite is the ice cream truck! You can also make heaps of different characters, and all of this can be shared through the net like with little big planet. You can also do online races :)

This game was great for ALL ages we all had a blast

Can get slightly boring as loading takes a long time but overall lots of fun. If you like Little Big Planet or Mario Kart, this is the game for you.

ModNation Racer is a combination of LittleBigPlanet, plus Crash Team Racing, PLUS Mario Karts. I very rarely play racing format games, but this one tops the cake. With over a thousand ideas to create the perfect racer and vehicle, I can never get bored of this game! 5 Stars!!!

This is a great game if u like creating things and make things to look good like cars and carecters the races is a bit to hard I will say specialy the career mod but its also a lot of fun will recomend this to every 1 that use to love mario cart:)

This is pretty damn fun, my only complaint is that you can't really sit and play uninterupted but are obliged to keep upgrading your kart and character from time to time, addictive fun all the same

Mod nation racers is a game for all with unique gameplay and easy to to use controls. Would recommend this game to anyone who has a playstation 3

Loads of customization, infinite replay value with online community made levels and track editor. Career mode can be challenging at times, especially for someone not familiar with cart games. Slow loading times only real draw back. Other then that, solid as.

i really recommend this game for people of all ages that wish to race in a competitive environment but want to have a lot of fun at the same time. It really does bring your inner kid out.

This game is by far the best game i have played on Ps3. If your looking for a gripping story and fantastic graphics don't buy this. If you're looking for infinite replay ability, customisation, multiplayer fun then get this. It's Great both offline and online. Offline has splitscreen up to 4 player i believe and is fantastic. You can also take 1 person online to race with you in split-screen online racing. With unlimited track, mod, cart customisations this will be sure to keep you going for a very long time. People are remaking all your old favourite tracks from previous kart titles, so just download away. The one negative i have is Weapons/Powerups. There are only about 4–5 different powerups and the all pretty much do the same wthing which is a bit of a downer

ModNation Racers is the best kart racer of the current gen consoles.

Gameplay is great once you get the hang of drifting & the weapon system and the game modes are awesome fun, especially online where the top player gets a statue of themselves in the modspot & the xp system rewards you for racing well

Creating tracks, mods & karts in this is very easy. I didn't have LBP so cannot compare but from what I have heard about this creation system compared to the one in LBP this is much more accessible & fun to work with. You can put as much, or as little, detail into it as possible. This is shown by the auto-complete option when building a track & a complilation of colours on the colour wheel you have already used helps on karts & mods.

Downloading is simple as you can search for specific things (e.g. Ron Burgundy) and a list of options will come up, or you can just look at the highest rated, or most recent creations. This will be better as more people get hold of the game.

The main thing that doesn't make this a 5 star for me are the load times. They are really long and quite frustrating. It does mean you take a long time to get to racing & in a kart racer that is a big downside. Also worth noting are the slight negatives in online where you can get disconnected frequently at times, during & just after races. Adding to this is that you also can be made to wait a long time for players to join online races. This is not as bad now as more people own the game but you can be made to wait a long time before racing online which is a tad dissapointing.

Overall though this game is well worth buying. It is great fun for all ages & anyone who is remotely interested in racing games
