Description

Every new generation seems to bring greater confusion to those that came before: who are these people that appear so different from us? What do they value? How do we communicate with them? Can we teach them what they need to know? As the church navigates into the increasingly globalized culture of the 21st century, these questions only intensify, and their answers become ever more complex. Even the most localized context faces influence from a wide array of ethnic, cultural, and even linguistic variations from around the country and even across the ocean. This "glocal" culture has never been more present than among emerging generations. Ministering to the next generations is a cross-cultural experience. Ministers recognize a "10/30 Window" (the demographic of people age 10 to 30) as being a substantial ministry challenge, culturally and spiritually. How shall the church minister the gospel to this "10/30 Window"? What does an effective next-gen ministry look like? In MissionNext, Dr. Eric Larsen applies decades of global ministry experience to the glocal concern of next-gen ministry to the 10/30 Window. In it, he charts a new course for the church and her leaders as they strive to minister the gospel to the globalized culture of emerging generations. Rich in biblical understanding, thorough in theology and philosophy of ministry, and relevant to culture while also transcending it, MissionNext is a definitive work for pastors, church leaders, campus ministers, youth workers, and others who would seek to be faithful to Christ and faithfully minister to all generations, offering keen insight into why many existing models of student ministry struggle, guidance into assessing the readiness of any ministry for effective next-gen ministry, and wisdom for crafting a philosophy and strategy for ministry that will empower your church's leadership to reach emerging generations with the hope of Christ and grow them into enduring disciples.
