CASE 5 – DEATH IN DISGUISE
Two former prisoners have founded the Lodge of the Golden Windhorse as a refuge for damaged victims (often wealthy) of a society from which they welcomed escape. Craigie believes that what he had entered into as a con has now become worthwhile & when, after ten years, Carter demands the half share on which they had originally agreed, he is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. Inspector Barnaby is called into determine of it was an accident or murder & soon discovers all the inmates are suspect.
