Directed by John Landis, who co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Jackson, 'Thriller' was budgeted at half a million dollars in production. It has sold 9 million units to date. In 2009, this landmark video was inducted into the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress, the first music video ever to receive this honour. Author Biography:

Douglas Kirkland has given us some of culture's most iconic images. He has perfected his craft over the past six decades, travelling to six continents and working as a special photographer on more than 160 motion picture sets, including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sound of Music, Out of Africa, Moulin Rouge!, and The Great Gatsby. He has photographed Charlie Chaplin, Brigitte Bardot, John Wayne, Sean Connery, Elizabeth Taylor, Judy Garland, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, and Nicole Kidman, among hundreds of others. When not travelling to take photos, Kirkland lives in the Hollywood Hills with his beloved wife and business partner, Francoise. Kirkland's other titles include A Life in Pictures: The Douglas Kirkland Monograph, Coco Chanel: ThreeWeeks/1962, With Marilyn: An Evening/1961, and Freeze Frame: 5 Decades/400 Photographs.
