This time round the Mercenaries game has been stepped up big time! just over-all bigger & better!

The map for this game is huge & there is so much to do in this game you won't get bored! lots of different weapons, missions, vehicles, air-drops & most importantly stuff to blow up!!!

This is a highly recommended to get!

"Great game!"
4 stars"

It's a great game but I don't think it is as good as the first. But still fun to play and a must have. All we need is Mercenaries 1 on PS3 now…

"Good time filler"
3 stars"

Not a bad game but the bugs in the ps3 version does mark it down. If you're a fan of Saints Row or GTA then this is a sure downgrade. Missions are interesting but get repetitive very fast. Last words, if you are waiting for a game to come out, get this game, it's a good way to fill the time, it'll sure take you a while to complete if you're going for the trophies.

"Great fun and an absolute steal at this price!"

If you love destruction and the anarchy of a third world country, Mercenaries 2 is your game. Within minutes you're given a grenade launcher, barreling through the jungle in a jeep, ploughing down the hill in a tank and then within hours you're calling in airstrikes that level cities. Being a mercenary has never been so fun.

There's not a whole lot to the story, you're a mercenary betrayed by a client and out for revenge, uh…that's it really. The character modelling is great and I felt a genuine connection to each of the characters with their witty one liners and outfits, but let's face it, who gives a damn about the story if theres a plethora of weaponry to destroy and annhilate your enemies with?

Everything about the game comes down to one point. Do whatever the hell you want. And that's the exactly it. This isn't realistic! And that's the point of the game. Will you make friends with this faction or crush them underfoot? My advice is the more you forget the story, the more fun you will have.

The stockpile system is one of the highlights of Mercenaries 2. Find yourself in need of specialised transport or heavy duty weaponry? Select the appropriate item in the game's menu, toss a flare onto the ground and your personal helicopter pilot will give it to you. You can get huge amounts of airstrikes, specialised equipment and vehicles and you even get your hands on a nuke!

Gameplay-wise, the missions aren't too satisfactory. The AI isn't intelligent and all too often I found myself blasting a stationary target. They also become tedious after a while and once you've beaten the main campaign only true Mercs at heart will attempt to collect all the collectibles and complete the side missions.

Vehicles are diverse and one of the most satisfying parts of the game. Will you disguise yourself in an enemy faction's car? Or disguise as a civillian? Will you call up an airstrike or get a helicopter gunship delivered to you? Will you use the hydrofoil, machine gun armed boat or perhaps mow down the gates with your rocket launcher equipped sports car? The range is diverse and immense.

Graphics are another key highlight. The environment is 90% destructible and once you get your hands on those devastating airstrikes you'll find it hard to stop. The lighting and shadowing looks fantastic and the water effects are brilliant. Explosions look incredible and satisfying and all too often I found myself leveling buildings just for the fun of watching it crumble.

Simply put, Mercenaries 2 isn't about realism or tactics. It's all about destruction and violence and fans of the genre and anyone else will find Mercenaries 2 to be a valuable addition to their collection.
