D Does it demand any great amount of faith in those who accept the principles of these men, or of discern ment in those who Oppose them, to create the assurance that their work did not perish with them that, as in the past, so in the future, those principles and their results will prove permanent and enduring? The prin ciples themselves can only fail by becoming false. If the men professing them, of any particular age or gen eration, prove false to them, or want faith in them, they, of course, may expect failure. But the truths which they profess will not fail. They will live, and other men more worthy, in due time, will be raised up' to illustrate and advance them. The Evangelical por tion of our Church has an illustrious ancestry.
